Penny LaCroix of the Nashoba Valley Weavers, Boston Weaver’s Guild and long-time teacher will offer a half-day workshop on exploring yarns for textiles at the White River Craft Center.
In order to understand how to put yarns together to make a textile, we need to understand the characteristics of the yarns. Some of the topics in this hands-on class include: tools for yarn exploration, structure, fiber content ID, weigh / grist, twist, strength, elasticity.
This class is appropriate for weavers, spinners and others who want to understand more about the yarn they are making and using.
