Field Trip to the Weaver’s Croft in Marshfield, VT

Kate Smith will share her weaving journey from the early days when she apprenticed with Norman Kennedy, the creation of Eaton Hills Textile Works, her work at the Marshfield School of Weaving, and her current business, The Weavers Croft.

Kate will share the history and mechanics of barn looms, provide samples of re-production textiles to discuss, and offer each participant the opportunity to weave on a barn loom. Kate is co-organizer of the Textile History Forum with Rabbit Goody of Thistle Hill Weavers. The forum is offered in-person and via zoom August 1-3, 2025.
