Rhode Island weaver, Suzi Vallener will offer a zoom presentation on understanding the equipment we use, as understanding our tools is the first step to changing the way we use them. She will identify ways to disrupt the fluid order of warp and weft through closely observing loom anatomy.

Then she will demonstrate how with this knowledge of weaving equipment it is possible to achieve fantastic and unexpected effects in your cloth.

Contemporary tools such as Open Reed, Nami Stick, Railreed and Rigid Heddles will be explored and demonstrated as simple alternatives that can be used to transform the traditional grid into a woven wonder.
