Penny Lacroix, a member of the Nashoba Valley Weavers, Weavers’ Guild of Boston and a long-time weaving teacher, will offer a half-day workshop on exploring yarns for textiles. The workshop will be held at the White River Craft Center in Randolph, Vermont.
In order to understand how to put yarns together to make a textile, weavers need to understand the characteristics of the yarns. Some of the topics in this hands-on class include: tools for yarn exploration, structure, fiber content ID, weight / grist, twist, strength and elasticity.
This class is appropriate for weavers, spinners and others who want to understand more about the yarn they are making and using.
